Well, there are lots of resources and courses available over the internet you can choose any one of them and can start preparation accordingly. 
I am also an engineer and software developer. I created many projects and games using Python.
I will recommend you two courses Python for Everybody (a free course offered by the University of Michigan on Coursera) and Complete Python Bootcamp (a comprehensive course on Udemy). You can join any one of them and can start learning Python.
